The Caucasus Mountains run between the Black Sea and the Caspian, with the Greater Caucasus forming Georgia’s northern border and rising above 5,000 m. Gudauri is the main ski resort on the Georgian side, high on the Georgian Military Highway, with treeless slopes between about 2,000 m and 3,300 m.
