About Mt Hutt
Mt Hutt is about 80 km west of Christchurch, on the edge of the Canterbury Plains. The nearest town is Methven, about 35 minutes’ drive away. The ski field is operated by NZSki, which also runs Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.
The lifts reach 2,086 m and cover 365 hectares with 683 m of vertical. Mt Hutt is known for being the first ski field in the Southern Hemisphere to open each season, which runs from June to October.
