Where the snow is
The Chablais Alps sit between Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif, on both sides of the French-Swiss border. Avoriaz, a purpose-built, car-free resort on a cliff above Morzine, is the highest point of the Portes du Soleil, which links a dozen French and Swiss villages.
