About Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is at Teton Village, Wyoming, about 12 miles from the town of Jackson. It has 2,500 acres of in-bounds terrain on two mountains, Après Vous and Rendezvous.
The Aerial Tram rises 4,139 vertical feet from the base at 6,311 ft (1,924 m) to the top of Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450 ft (3,185 m).
The snow
Jackson Hole has the biggest continuous vertical in the United States, 1,261 m from the base at 1,924 m to Rendezvous Peak at 3,185 m, and the Tetons catch storms well: in our record it snows on about 15 days at mid-mountain in February and March and 13 to 14 in December and January. Snow was on the ground every Christmas Day in the last ten years. The mountain faces east and north-east, so it holds cold snow, and the tram gives access to serious steeps and to the backcountry gates.
Who it suits
Experts, first: Corbet’s Couloir, the Hobacks and the sidecountry made Jackson’s name. There is more groomed terrain than the reputation suggests, and Teton Village has grown up around the base. The town of Jackson, 20 minutes away, is a Western town with elk on the refuge. Jackson is on the Ikon Pass and the Mountain Collective.
Getting there
Jackson Hole airport, inside Grand Teton National Park, is about 30 minutes from the resort, with direct winter flights from several US cities.
