Sub-range
Wasatch Range
The range rising directly behind Salt Lake City.
Wasatch Range snow forecast
No snow is expected at any of the 4 places in Wasatch Range in the next 7 days.
Where the snow is
The Wasatch Range rises straight out of Salt Lake City, and its canyons hold Alta and Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon, famous for deep, dry snow, and Park City and Deer Valley on the range’s gentler eastern side. Storms crossing the Great Salt Lake pick up moisture and unload it here.
In our record the resorts here average about 13 snowy days at mid-mountain in March and 11 in December, January and February.
When it snows
Seasons run from mid-November to April, with Alta and Snowbird often skiing into May.
