About Park City
Park City Mountain is in the Wasatch Range next to the town of Park City, Utah. It has more than 7,300 skiable acres and two base villages, Canyons Village and Mountain Village, and its operator describes it as the largest ski resort in the United States.
The base is at 6,800 ft (2,073 m) and the summit at 10,026 ft (3,056 m). Salt Lake City International Airport is about 35 minutes’ drive away.
The snow
Park City is the largest ski resort in the United States, with lifts between 2,073 m and 3,048 m on the eastern side of the Wasatch Range. It sits in the lee of the crest, so it gets less snow than Alta and Snowbird on the western side, but still plenty by most standards: in our record about 12 snowy days at mid-mountain in March and 10 to 11 in December, January and February, and snow on the ground every Christmas Day in the last ten years. The best recent winter was 2022/23, the record year across Utah.
Who it suits
Intermediates and families, with a huge choice of groomed terrain and the Canyons side for more open bowls. Park City is a real town with a main street and the Sundance festival, and the closest big resort to a major airport anywhere. It is on the Epic Pass; Deer Valley next door is on the Ikon.
Getting there
Salt Lake City airport is about 40 minutes by road.
