About La Plagne
La Plagne opened in December 1961. It is made up of 11 sites, some purpose-built at altitude and others in older villages such as Montchavin-Les Coches and Champagny-en-Vanoise. The ski area runs from 1,250 m up to glacier terrain at 3,250 m, with 70% of it above 2,000 m.
The bobsleigh and luge track for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics was built at La Plagne. The Vanoise Express cable car links the resort with Les Arcs to form Paradiski.
